Learning Objective
Upon completing this lesson, you will be able to navigate to the Store Menu Admin, manage items for individual locations, and configure specific settings like availability and pricing. The Store Menu Admin is where you can turn on and off items from the Company Menu, which serves as the master menu, and apply them to specific locations.
Core Learning
Accessing Store Menu Admin
- Log in to the Olo Dashboard at http://my.olo.com.
- Click on the Menu tab on the left side of the screen.
- Select the Manage Menus option, and you will be taken to the Company Menu and Store Menu options.
- You will then be presented with options to select the specific stores you want to manage. You can either manually select stores or use the advanced selection tool.
Adding and Removing Categories, Products, and Modifiers
Before any item can be added to a store menu, it must first be created in the Company Menu (as covered in Part 1 of this training). Once an item exists in the Company Menu, you can add or remove it from specific stores.
Add or Remove a Product from a Store Menu:
- Navigate to the store menu and select the vendor(s) you want to update.
- Click + Add or x Remove next to the product you wish to modify.
Add or Remove Modifier Groups from a Store Menu:
- Navigate to the store menu and select the vendor(s) you want to update.
- Click on a category to expand the list of products (e.g., Burgers).
- Click the Modifiers button next to the product that contains the Modifier Group you want to update.
Add or Remove Modifier Choices from a Store Menu:
- Navigate to the store menu and select the vendor(s) you want to update.

Setting Category and Product Availability
You can set specific time, day, or date-range availability for products and categories. This is useful for managing items like breakfast menus or limited-time offers (LTOs).
Set Time Range Availability:
- Navigate to the store menu and select the vendor(s) you want to update.
-
Category: To update the hours for all products in a category, click Add Hours for All Products.
*If you were to open this tool back up, you will see that it does not show the hours that were set. It will show the default hours. This is due to the fact that this is a bulk add tool and hours can also be set within individual products. - Product: To update hours for a single product, click on the product's name and then select the Availability Schedule tab.
-
Modifier Group/Choice: Click on Modifiers for the parent product, then Choices for the modifier group. Select the item and edit its availability schedule.
Set Date Range Availability:
- Within the Availability Settings tab for a product, you will see the option for Date range availability.
- In the Rule drop-down menu, select either Available or Unavailable.
Adding Pricing (For Non-Integrated & SSOS Stores)
For brands with non-integrated POS systems, pricing must be entered manually in the Store Menu Admin. For integrated brands, Olo pulls pricing directly from the POS.
To Update Product/Modifier Pricing:
- Navigate to the store menu and select the vendor(s) you want to update.
- Click on a category to expand the list of products.
- Click on the name of the product or modifier whose price you want to update.

86'ing and Un-86'ing
Items or modifiers can be temporarily marked as unavailable ("86'd") from your online menu. This is a crucial function for managing out-of-stock items.
- For Non-Integrated Brands: 86 items directly within the Store Menu.
- For Integrated Brands: 86'ing process may differ depending on your POS system; either directly through the POS or within the Store Menu.
