Order with Google helps brands boost discoverability and drive direct orders from Google properties such as search results and maps. Orders placed via Google are processed the same way direct branded orders are, where you maintain ownership of the customer data.
With Google ordering enabled, you can:
- Improve search rankings
- Eliminate friction in off-premise ordering
- Increase conversion rates
- Drive guest acquisition and retention
By the numbers
Brands using Google ordering capabilities have seen impressive results...
- 4.5% increase in net new revenue
- 13% of guests convert to brand-owned channels after ordering via Google
- 85% incremental guests that haven’t ordered direct
Pickup
Orders will be sent to your restaurants the same way as direct Olo orders and appear in the Dashboard with Google as the source. Orders can be scheduled for ASAP or to be picked up at a future time.
Delivery
Dispatch is supported via Google ordering as well. All Dispatch settings flow through to Google Dispatch delivery. Be aware that brands that support in-house delivery with their own fleet are currently not supported.
Menu
Your menu is set up to work within Google’s ordering interface while still receiving the same instant updates as your direct ordering menu. Price Inflation is also supported through Order with Google.
Payment
Olo processes payment for each Google order placed using the store’s merchant account. This is the same account used for orders placed directly via Olo ordering sites and apps. The funds are deposited into the merchant’s account in the same batch as other orders. Olo charges a fee for orders from Google. Your Customer Success Manager can provide more details if needed.
Fraud & Refunds
Fraud liability and the chargeback process is the same for Google orders as it is for standard Olo orders. If a store has Shield enabled, orders placed via Google will be sent through Shield for scoring and blocked accordingly. All refunds are processed via the Dashboard or Expo.
