This document has step by step instructions on how to use the Content Manager tool to update and manage your Hero Image, Menu Banner Image, and Email Header Image. The Content Manager overview can be found here.
Menu Banner Image
This is an optional image that appears on your store menu page, below the store information and before the menu begins. The image set here in the Content Manager tool is the channel-level default that applies across all stores.
You can also set a menu banner for an individual store or a group of stores in Menu Banner Settings, which overrides the channel-level default for those stores. See Menu Banner Settings: Store-Level Banners (Serve).
Email Header Image
This is an optional header/banner image that appears in emails sent on your brand's behalf from Olo. This can be the order received, order canceled, new account, and other email templates.
Using the tool
- Log into your Olo Dashboard account at https://my.olo.com/.
- If you have multiple channels associated with your account, select your desired channel in the upper right hand corner.
- In the left hand navigation, locate the Brand button and click the arrow to expand it.
- Click Content Manager to open the Content Manager tool. The tool opens with the available pages listed in the left panel and a live preview of your Serve site on the right. If no image has been uploaded yet, a placeholder image appears in the preview.
- In the left panel, click the page you want to edit.
- Click the button for the field you want to change to open its edit options. Each field shows the required image specifications, a Select Image button, a trash can icon to remove the image, an alt text field, viewport options, and a Publish Live button.
- Click Select Image to add an image.
- Note: You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload to Serve is accessible and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to accessibility.
- Add or choose your image:
- If this is your first time uploading, click Upload Image to open your computer's file browser and select an image.
- If you have images uploaded already, select one from your image gallery. The selected image appears with a highlighted border.
- Click Submit. The image appears in the preview on the right panel.
- Enter alt text to describe your image. All images should have alt text; it describes the image for search engine optimization and for the screen readers used for accessibility.
- To check how the image looks on different devices, click the desktop, tablet, and phone icons to preview each viewport.
- When you are ready, click Publish Live. Once published, the last published date and time updates above the button, confirming the image is live on your Serve site.
Email Header Image: Specific Callouts
- The image updates will only apply to email templates that do not have an existing override to them.
- If an existing override exists on the email template(s) those overrides will be respected and cannot be changed within this tool.
- If you are not seeing your updates reflected in specific emails:
- Check your last published date and time to ensure you published your changes.
- You likely have an existing image override to the email template(s). Please reach out to Olo's Support team if you would like to review or edit the images associated with those email templates' overrides.
- If you remove your email banner image from this tool, we recommend ensuring that you have another image to replace it or at least upload your brand's logo temporarily to ensure you have an image populated.
