It is now possible for brands to show 86’d menu items as Currently Unavailable on Serve. Previously, a menu item that was 86’d in Olo was not shown at all on the Serve menu page, which often led to customer confusion around why an item was not listed on the menu.
How do I enable this feature?
Please reach out to your CSM to get the process started.
- It is not currently possible to add an 86’d item to a basket, or schedule a future order containing an item that is currently 86’d on Serve.
- Only products and top-level modifier choices that are 86’d will show as greyed out and Currently Unavailable. Any nested modifier choices that are 86’d, or modifier choices that are in formation groups and are 86’d, will not be visible at all on the Serve menu page.
- Any products that are 86’d will be moved automatically to the end of the category carousel. Any top-level modifier choices that are 86’d will be moved automatically to the bottom of the list of choices within that modifier group.
- If a Product is 86’d, the description, item labels, and availability dates/hours description are replaced on the product card by Currently Unavailable. Only the price and any calorie information are visible on the product card.
