Products sold on marketplaces are often sold at a premium price. Since the POS is typically recognized as the system of record, a brand may prefer that the configuration within Olo leverages Price Change Records used by Aloha to set different pricing for the same item record IDs offered at regular price on their direct store menu. This method can reduce maintenance of pricing long term since the pricing follows the item in the POS, while the initial setup may be considered arduous and detailed. Also, this is a limited method in that only one price change can apply across all marketplaces.
These are the setup elements required to leverage Price Change Events by Revenue Center.
It is critical to understand that this method is limited to one Price Change Event to be shared across all marketplaces. Olo does not support this method and different prices on different marketplaces for the same item record IDs.
Example: Cheeseburger ID 1000 may be $5.00 on the direct store website,
but is $6.00 on all marketplaces.
