Authenticating Expo Devices


How do I authenticate my Expo tablet?

If you intend on using Expo on a tablet, you must save Expo to your home screen BEFORE registering your device. First, go to expo.olo.com and save Expo to your home screen.

Saving Expo to the Home Screen

Safari

  1. Click  arrow.png  on the located on the top right of the browser, next to the address bar. 
  2. Click on the “Add to Home Screen” icon (located in the lowest row of icons).
  3. Exit the browser and open up Expo from the icon on your home screen.

Chrome

  2. Tap “Add to Home Screen” from the list of options.
  3. Exit the browser and open up Expo from the icon on your home screen.

Once saved, you should open Expo and you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Once you have your unique code, log in to the Dashboard and navigate to Settings > Expo Settings > Devices. Once there you should see this screen.

Enter the registration code and name your device. Once successfully registered, the device will appear in the table. Multiple devices can be added depending on the needs of your location. For example, we have seen a need for an Expo device on the packing line in the kitchen or at hostess's stands near the front entrance.

At this point, you don't need a login for Expo. Every time you open the app, you will see all the relevant orders. The only action that can be taken by default is early firing. No high-risk actions can be taken.

Switching Locations 

If you want to view orders from a different location, you can:

Navigate to Settings > Expo Settings > Devices on Dashboard. Once there they should see the below screen.

Select the device you want to deactivate then click Deactivate Device. Navigate to the store you want to link via your vendor tree and then repeat the instructions above to authenticate a new device with Expo.


How do I know which location I am logged into?

On your Expo device, navigate to the Help menu found within the Expo Settings.

After selecting Help a pop-up will appear displaying with the channels you are receiving orders from.
