How to Enable Curbside


Request to Enable at the Brand Level, POS Configurations & Custom Fields


Before Curbside can be enabled at a location, it needs to be activated by Olo at the brand level and we'll need to collect a couple of POS configurations from you to use across all locations. Please note that not every POS integration supports curbside. See below for a list of POS integrations that do support curbside. If you don't see your POS on this list, please reach out to your Olo CSM to confirm whether or not the POS supports curbside. Additionally, if you are using any custom UI's or Apps, we recommend reaching out to your partner/agency to confirm they can support Curbside before activating. 

To activate at a brand level, please have a corporate contact reach out to help@olo.com and/or your Olo Customer Success Manager to request that Curbside is selectable at the brand level and request that you have the ability to enable it through the Olo Dashboard. 

Every POS integration is different and will require different POS ID's to be provided to Olo in order to assure these Curbside orders are being sent to your POS as desired. Be sure to reference the POS section below to see what needs to be provided. Please make sure any POS configurations are enabled all stores and provide these values to our team when requesting that curbside is enabled. 


Optional step to include make, model, and color: 
If a guest selects curbside, Olo does have the ability to prompt the user to enter in their car's make, model, and color to pass through to the POS. Please note that not all POS integrations support the transmission of this information. These curbside fields are currently supported for: Aloha, Brink, MICROS 3700, POSitouch, Silver/Silver Pro, Simphony, SSOS, Toast, and Xpient.

If you'd like to require that a customer adds in this info and you are on one of the POS integrations listed above, you will need to supply additional POS ID's in order for these to flow through to the POS. 


Enabling Curbside


Once Olo has activated Curbside at the brand level, you will now be able to activate it at individual locations through the Olo Dashboard. 

 


Step 1: Setup Curbside Hours

Once Olo has activated curbside at a location, curbside hours will automatically be copied over from the store's existing business hours. If the curbside hours differ from the business hours, please use the Olo Dashboard to update accordingly. To update the hours, go to Settings --> Store Hours --> Select Store(s). Click on the tab "Curbside Pickup Hours" to configure:

Step 2: Enable at the Location

You are now ready to launch curbside! To do so, click on Settings > Store Settings > Select Store > Store Information. Scroll down to see the ability to enable Curbside Pickup:

POS Configurations by POS

Aloha

  • Aloha Order Mode ID
    • Within POS: Flag “Active” and “Apply to all unordered items” (required)
      • Maintenance > System Settings > Order Mode
    • Recommend linking to a “Curbside” Revenue Center for reporting (not required)
      • Maintenance > System Settings > Revenue Center
  • Curbside Specific Memo Item ID (Optional, as Make, Model, and Color can be passed down using the default Memo Item ID, or as a Curbside specific Memo Item ID)
    • Open item flagged to "Ask for Description". Do not flag "Ask for Price"

Brink

  • Curbside Order Type
    • Destination in Brink
  • MemoItemId- (Optional if you're asking for Make, Model & Color)
    • $0 Item in Brink, flag ‘Ask Name’ and set to no tax

CBS Northstar

  • Curbside ID
    • Create a new area in CBS AreaID_Curbside
  • CBS Northstar does not support car make, model, color

Focus

  • Order Type for Curbside

MICROS 3700

  • Curbside Order Type
    • Active order type # needed
  • Curbside Specific Memo Item ID's (Optional if you'd like to use different MemoItemID's to send through Make, Model & Color)
    • $0 menu item with reference entry required enabled 
      • You can share the same ID for Make, Model & Color or can use different ones, if desired. 

OloCloud

  • A note on OloCloud integrations: Integrations may not support the sending through of the customer's Make, Model & Color. Please reach out to your POS provider to see what the integration can support. 

POSitouch

  •  Memo Item (used to send through Make, Model & Color, if prompted)
    • Standard memo item with no price attached

Silver & Silver Pro

  • POS Configuration in Olo for "CurbsideItemId" that uses the Item ID configured via this article
  • "Notes" are used to send thru Make, Model & Color (requires Custom Fields setup)

Simphony

  • Curbside Order Type
    • Active order type # needed
  • Curbside Specific Memo Item ID's (Optional if you'd like to use different ID's to send through Make, Model & Color)
    • $0 menu item with reference entry required enabled 
      • You can share the same ID for Make, Model & Color or can use different ones, if desired. 

Toast

  • Curbside Dining Option
    • Behavior = “Takeout”, enabled for API use

Xpient

  • Curbside Destination
  • Memo Item (Optional if asking for Make, Model, Color)
    • Standard Memo Item with no price attached

Revel

  • Dining Option 4 or 6 can be renamed to Curbside. Revel support needs to do any renaming, that ability is not available to the user.
  • Once the dining option is re-named, please let Olo Help know so that we can input the correct configuration on our end.
