Customize Dispatch Error Messages


Note: This is a channel-wide setting and must be finalized by the brand's corporate team.

Brands can customize the default error message presented to customers when placing a Dispatch order. Below are scenarios that trigger Dispatch error messages.

If you would like to update any of the following error messages, please send a support request to help@olo.com.

 

Example 1: Address is outside of coverage or drivers unavailable

This message shown to user if the address appears to be within the delivery area but we could not obtain a dispatch quote for it at this time.

No delivery services are available to handle this order at this time.

Example customized message: We’re sorry, but your delivery destination is either outside of our delivery range or a driver isn’t available at this time. Please try again in a few minutes, schedule your delivery for a future time, or place your order for pick-up.

 

Example 2: Dispatch is not available at the time requested

This message will be displayed to the user when they try to schedule a dispatch order and dispatch isn’t available for the time they requested, but would be available later.

Default message: Your order cannot be available for delivery before %nextavailablescheduledtime%.

Example customized message: We’re sorry, but delivery isn’t available at this time. Please try again in a few minutes, schedule your delivery for a future time, or place your order for pick-up.

 

Example 3: Basket Subtotal Below Minimum

If an order below the restaurant's delivery minimum charge is submitted

Default message: Only orders above %minimum% can be delivered. Your order was not placed and you will not be billed.

Example customized message: The minimum order size to place a delivery order is %minimum%. Please increase your basket size and re-submit your order. Your current order was not placed and you will not be billed.

 

Example 4: Basket Subtotal is Above Maximum

Error message displayed if an order above the restaurant's maximum delivery is submitted:

Default message: Only orders below %maximum% can be delivered. Your order was not placed and you will not be billed.

Example customized message: Only orders below %maximum% can be delivered via an online order. Please lower your basket size and re-submit your order. Your current order was not placed and you will not be billed. For larger deliveries, please call the restaurant directly.
