Technical Teams, Engineers, Product Managers

Description of Issue:

Error 03 - (0xC0068003) - Error trying to login to Aloha that happens when Iber(qs) is trying to login an employee ID.

2021-01-06 09:22:09.2484|2021-01-06 14:22:09.2484|WARN|Error trying to login to Aloha
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC0068003): Invalid employee number, try again
Solution:
This typically happens when the interface employee ID cannot be found in the local emp.dbf file, so Confirm that %iberdir%\data\emp.dbf contains the employee ID for both the commit employee (default) and the validation employee (QS only). Another potential root cause would be that the NUMEMPDIGITS=__ does not suit the digits in the interface employee that is configured.

Steps:

1) Steps can vary based on SOPs for your brand. Some examples are:
  • Add the employee into CFC > Maintenance > Labor > Employees, save & refresh data > open emp.dbf and confirm the employee is there.
  • Add the employee into NBO as you would any employee, import & refresh > open emp.dbf and confirm the employee is there.
  • Add the employee manually into your seed emp.dbf as you would any employee, save > open emp.dbf and confirm the employee is there.
2) Once confirmed, restart OloAlohaService and allow the interface employee to login.
3) Confirm the NUMEMPDIGITS value in aloha.ini will work with your interface employee digits and correct if it does not.

Caveats: This article should be applied to both the commit and validation employees.
