Aloha POS: (0xC006802F) Error from Aloha when placing an order

Updated

Audience:

Technical Teams, Developers, Account Managers, Database Administrators, and Product Teams.

Description of Issue:

When placing an order from Olo to Aloha POS, Aloha responds with an error that looks like this:

Error Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC006802F): Exception from HRESULT: 0xC006802F at AlohaFOHLib.IIberFuncs13.

Technical Explanation: This happens because the tender being used for this transaction does not allow tips in Aloha so Aloha does not know how to handle the Tip that is on the order.

Solution:

Reference the SDK Errors matrix located in the help center article to understand the error:

0x2F

Illegal declared tips amount

ErrCOM_IllegalDeclaredTipsAmount

Steps to Resolve:

1) Edit your "General" Aloha Tender that you are using for your orders that are paid above store to "Allow Tips".

  • This tip allowance should be set at a percentage threshold in Aloha that you are willing to allow for orders.
  • If this tip threshold is exceeded by a guest (they want to leave $10 on $15 order and you have the threshold set at 20%) then Aloha will fail the order with the 2F error.

2) Refresh data in the local CFC instance at the store or wait for EOD to refresh.

Caveats:

This applies to orders paid above store only.
