Aloha POS: Increase Default Character Limit on Chits

Updated

Topic:

Aloha has default character limits for chit names.  When printing a phone number on a prep ticket for a delivery, the phone number gets cut off.

Solution:

You can reference the NCR document RKS 14588

In Aloha POS versions 6.7.37 and higher, you can use the ASKFORPRICENAME variable in the Aloha.ini to define if the item's long name or chit name prints in the kitchen when ordering an open-name item. Aloha defaults to a CHIT (chit name) value, but you can assign a LONG (long name) value.

In %iberdir%\newdata\ open aloha.ini. At the bottom of the file add the line

ASKFORPRICENAME=LONG

Save the file and then refresh data.
