It is recommended that the person who is responsible for paying out tips at the end of the day to run the ‘Search by Timeframe’ report from the Orders tab in the Olo Dashboard. It will highlight which orders are pickup versus dispatch in the ‘Type’ column, and the respective tip amounts. The tip amount belonging to Dispatch should stay in the cash register to be paid out during our monthly invoicing process with the store.
You can also specify an order type when you run the report.
The store should NEVER pay the tip amount to the driver directly when they come to pickup the order. Tip payment is handled directly between the Delivery Provider and the driver in a separate process.
